PERMACULTURE PRACTICAL COURSE
April 12-17 and October 18-23, 2010
Practical Permaculture (one week) – Rural and Urban
The objective of these courses is to transmit the teaching of Permaculture from the lecture hall into a primarily practical context. It will be a hands-on experience from Day 1 through to Day 6, though with ample provision of reference material to enable participants to modify the applications learnt on the course to their own personal situations.
The course is conducted with abundant field work in an atmosphere of community co-operation. Participants are encouraged to share their knowledge, their competence and creative ideas, as well as their criticisms and to bring their specific practical needs which can be dealt with.

- Mulch gardens, synergetic gardens
- Composts:liquid, bio-intensive, worms
- Ponds and aquaculture
- Maximising vertical space
- Water management
- Nursery techniques
- Orchard establishment
- Companion planting

John Button, Co-ordinator, has worked with Permaculture for almost 30 years, in design, consultancy, teaching, project development and the implemention of many successful and diverse projects in Italy, Germany, Canary Islands, Russia, Australia, India, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
